Fitness Friendly Gelato
Gelato has less fat than ice cream. It's also denser, which makes it seem creamier.
So how did I transform Gelato into something even better than Gelato (a.k.a "fitness friendly gelato")??
Keep reading because I just made Gelato a high fibre, low sugar, high protein treat!
Gelatocise
I recently became a gelatociser.
Gelatocising is eating gelato while simultaneously walking. If properly executed, this has the same outcome as sitting on the couch eating nothing.
It's how I justified eating Gelato every day on my vacation.
Now that the vacation is over, I decided it's time to invent my own Gelato Recipe...
Before You Begin:
Step 1: Buy an Ice Cream Machine. I got mine at the rainforest place for ~$50 here. Best thing money can buy. I use mine ALL the time except when I don’t use it.
Step 2: Watch my “How to Use an Ice Cream Machine Tootorial Video” or just read my instructions here.
Recipe:
Measure 1/2 cup of black beans (no sodium added). Rinse them under cold water in a strainer.
Blend the following in a Blender:
- 1 cup Unsweetened Cashew or Vanilla Almond Milk
- 2 TBSP Walden Farms Calorie Free Pancake Syrup (or Chocolate Syrup to make it very chocolatey). Note you can substitute with the sweetener of your choice (agave, honey, maple syrup, etc)
- 1 scoop of BSN Whey (Chocolate, I used Isoburn)
- 1/2 cup of the rinsed black beans
- ~1/2 cup of water
Add this mixture to your ice cream machine (turn the machine ON before adding the mixture)
It takes about 15-20 minutes in the machine. Once it’s ready, turn off the machine and immediately remove the ice cream from the ice cream bowl.
Enjoy!
